PASTOR RONALD COVINGTON SR.

Reverend Ronald Covington was born to Aline Covington on May 20, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to Indianapolis in 1957.  He accepted the call to preach in 1978 and became Assistant Pastor of Friendship in 1989. In 1995, after six years of dedicated service, he was called as Pastor of Friendship and has continued to convey a strong desire for serving his church members, other churches and organizations and the Indianapolis community at large.

During his Pastoral tenure, Pastor Covington has been a pillar in the community on which many in the Haughville and other surrounding areas of the city and state can rely, with venues and services including Friendship Westside Charities, Friendship Christian Academy and Childcare, the Arthur Johnson Scholarship Fund, and Friendship Westside Center 4 Excellence, as well as Friendship’s Annual Empowerment Institute, where people are taught and guided to do the Will of God and receive a blessed word through a nightly revival.

With all that he does, Pastor Covington is most passionate about being a loyal servant of God, a devoted husband and a caring father. Without the love, support and encouragement of his beautiful wife, Sis. Kim Covington- who is an awesome Woman of God and a wonderful help meet for Pastor Covington-, along with his children: Ronald, Jr, Rev. Rick, Rhea and Cameron, and his six grandchildren, he would not be able to give of himself and serve the people of Indianapolis and Indiana in the way that he does.

The Friendship family is exceptionally blessed to be under the humble and modest leadership of Pastor and Sis. Kim Covington.
